Dinosaur Dinner

End of week four and I still seem to be sunk in the mire of week 3

I seem to have downloaded Picasa and uploaded some photographs. Such is my excitement I even sought out and found the lead that connects the camera to the computer. Such is my technical competency I seem to have taken 'movies' as well as 'stills'. However it is easy to see that this is completely unintentional as the camera is swinging in a blurry arc from boot to path, boot to path. The thing that seals my fate as a dinosaur is the fact that I cannot now find how you switch the camera to 'movie' mode. Maybe the camera has been designed for dinosaurs like me - it is intuitive - when switched on and moving it decides you wish to taking moving pictures.

Here is my 'creative' work for the week - a small collection of photographs taken during my short escape from the Cochrane Conference in Freiburg. How could I not take a walk at the edge of the black forest.

Comments about how I am going

I cannot believe how time consuming this is. I have not had the opportunity to do any of 23 things at work yet so maybe the fact that I am trying to do it in the evenings makes me especially slow. I seem to go in circles and it is certainly taking me more than an hour a week to accomplish a task. Blog is created and Flickr though not mastered is attempted with some photographs uploaded and a photograph from the site added to this blog.

I liked the name of the group 'up a tree' all photographs have to be pointing up a tree. The directions for submitting photographs to this group include the statement 'if we can see the ground chances are your camera is not pointing up a tree".

Getting started

Is this week three of 23 things? A little late getting started as per usual. However having now taken the first small step maybe the momentum will build and drag me along until I am propelled onward by my enthusiasm alone. On the whole I think this is an excellent idea - making a point of setting aside time to do this each week is going to be the difficult part. The opportunity to 'play' in youtube, facebook and all these things that I hear about but never venture into will probably be a good thing. I write these things off as nothingness for people who have too much time on their hands - I would like to be pleasantly surprised.
